INSECT

Repellents

We all love playing in our backyards as well as trips to our favorite parks as it gets warmer. Protect yourself and your family from insect bites with homemade insect repellents that are free of harmful chemicals and safe for your children, your pets, and you!

Homemade insect repellents can be made according to your preferred application, RUB ON or SPRAY ON, using my simple essential oils recipe:

  • Distilled Water

  • White Vinegar  (some folks prefer Witch Hazel or Vodka)

  • Essential Oils (see below)

  • Fractionated Coconut Oil

Essentials oils have been long used to ward off insects, especially mosquitoesMix and blend any one or more of the following oils to create your own personal homemade bug repellant that also smell great:

NOTE:

  • As always with essential oils, women who are pregnant or nursing should consult a health practioner before using.

  • Extreme caution should be used when using essential oils on young children.

  • Always perform a patch test to check for an allergic reaction before using an essential oil for the first time.

  • Always label homemade products well.

  • Dark-colored glass bottles work best for essential oils.

  • Store in a cool, dark place when not using.
